Avian arrival

While Sylvester was having his discussion with Tom Minton, a new resident was moving to the town.  The new resident was moving into a birdhouse in the western side of the town.  The delivery people were all small birds, arriving in what was effectively a small blimp.  The blimp had already parked next to the birdhouse and the delivery birds were already unloading bird-sized furnishing into the house.  They were unloading everything needed for a comfortable home.  Chairs, sofas, a TV, tables, bed and even the kitchen sink.  Outside the front door was the new resident; a female canary.  The canary had feathers the same color as Tweety’s feet and had feet the same color as Tweety’s feathers.  The canary also had an array of feathers from her forehead that looked like a long fringe.  She also had a necklace-like piece of jewellery around the top of her head.  She had a small checklist in her hands.  Being the owner of everything, she wanted to be sure that she had everything that was hers.  She did pause for a moment to take a deep breath of the air that was around her.
“Ahh, so clean and fresh.” The canary thought aloud after her breath.  She was commenting on the air quality of the town.  She didn’t know that one of the delivery birds, a robin, had heard her.
“Yep, you just can’t beat the air quality here.” The robin said.  The canary girl jumped when the robin spoke.  She had been lost in her own little world for a moment.  She dropped her checklist and put a hand on her chest before turning around.  This made the robin chuckle.  “Sorry Miss Aaooga.  I didn’t mean to scare you.” The robin said.  Aaooga wiped her forehead for a moment.
“Oh, it’s fine.  I’m just a little jumpy.” Aaooga said.  The robin gave a smile and leant against the wall of Aaooga’s new house.
“You don’t need to be.  This town is about as safe as you can get.  Not even the cats will hurt you.” The robin said, adding a chuckle.  “I’ve lived here for a few years now.  One of my first friends here was a cat.  Claude was his name, he works at Warner brothers.  He’s still a good pal even to this day.” The robin chuckled again.  Aaooga wiped her forehead again.
“Making friends with cats might not be up my street.  I’ve been frightened of them for almost my entire life.” Aaooga’s comment was greeted by a friendly smile from the robin.
“Well, I can’t say I blame ya.  It’s only natural for birds to be scared of cats after all.” The robin then pointed in a direction away from the house.  “In fact, Warner brother’s cartoon studio’s is a stone’s throw away from here in that direction.  No doubt you’ll be meeting some famous cartoon stars in the town.” The robin added.  All Aaooga could do was nod and look in the direction the robin was pointing.  Her feelings on cartoons were neutral.  She watched them occasionally but didn’t tune into them like it was a life or death situation.  She didn’t even have a favourite character.  After looking in the direction the robin was pointing, she finally nodded.
“Oh, ok.  I’m sure I will meet at least one of them.” Aaooga turned to the robin, giving him a smile.  The robin smiled back at her.  He then turned to see another robin approaching from inside the house.
“We’re all unloaded.  Everything’s ready.” The second robin said.  The robin Aaooga had been talking to nodded in response.
“Ok, good job.” The robin said, then turning back to Aaooga.  “We’ll send you an invoice by post.  It should arrive in a couple of days.” It was Aaooga’s turn to nod again.
“Ok.  Thank you for your help.” Aaooga said to the robin, who gave a chuckle.
“It’s our job miss.  If we didn’t help, we wouldn’t get paid.” The robin chuckled, before heading back to the blimp, where all the other birds had gone.  “It was nice talking to you miss Aaooga.  Enjoy yourself here.” The blimp then began to take off.  Aaooga watched it take off and start to leave.  Before it was fully out of sight, she went to the edge where the blimp was once parked.
“It was nice talking to you as well.” Aaooga called back, before turning to the door of her new house.  Before she entered, she paused to look at the disappearing blimp, having realised something.  “I never asked for that gentleman’s name…” Aaooga trailed off for a moment, before finally shrugging a little.  “I guess its’ not that important.” With that thought, she went into her new house to relax.

Indeed, it WAS well worth the wait. Definitely a great job on the exchange and characterizations. :-D I'm definitely going to be looking forward to more of this, but I can understand if it will take a while.
